Channel · YouTube

YouTube. long-form authority.

The only platform where deep work compounds over years. A YouTube channel built in 2024 is still pulling subscribers in 2030 — no other platform pays out like that. The setup matters because it sets the algorithm's expectation of you for the next decade.

Setup

Day-one checklist.

  • Pick a channel name with a 5-year horizon

You will live with this name longer than any other social handle. "Vibe Designs Studio" beats "@vibedesigns2024" by a wide margin.

  • Verify the account

Add a phone number, unlock custom thumbnails + longer uploads. Required before any other step.

  • Banner: 2560 × 1440, safe zone 1546 × 423

YouTube crops the banner aggressively across devices. Anything important must be in the central safe zone.

  • Channel avatar: 800 × 800 PNG

Use a high-contrast mark, not a photo. Photos get crushed at the 32 px rail size.

  • About page is read by humans, not the algorithm

Three sentences of voice, an email, and an upload schedule. Skip the keyword stuffing — it does not work.

  • Set the right channel category + language

These quietly feed recommendation. Get them right on day one.

Content

What actually works.

  • Cadence beats virality

One video per week, indefinitely. The first 50 episodes are runway — the algorithm does not start working until then.

  • First 30 seconds is everything

YouTube's "average view duration" weights the first 30 seconds 4x heavier than any other 30. Hook hard, then deliver.

  • Thumbnails are 70% of the click

A great video with a weak thumb dies. Treat the thumb as a separate craft. Three thumbnails per video, A/B test on launch day.

  • Titles: emotional + searchable

"How I built a SaaS in a weekend (and what broke)" beats "Vlog Episode 47" every time.

  • Chapters + transcripts

Adds 6-12% to retention metrics. Always do it.

Growth

Tactics that move metrics.

  • Series > standalone

Audiences subscribe to series. Standalone bangers go viral once and die.

  • Community tab + Shorts as funnel

Use Shorts for top-of-funnel discovery, long-form for retention + monetisation.

  • Collab with channels 2x your size

Algorithmic kingmaker. Each collab can add 5-15% subs in a week.

  • Reply to every comment in the first 48 hours

YouTube reads reply rate as engagement. Front-loaded effort pays for months.

Channel · Instagram

Instagram. visual currency.

The de-facto portfolio for visual brands. In 2026 it is three platforms in one — Posts (the grid as portfolio), Reels (the discovery engine), Stories (the daily presence). Each does a different job, and the brand wins when they reinforce each other.

Setup

Day-one checklist.

  • Handle: short, clean, no underscores

You will type this on every business card forever. @vibedesigns beats @vibe.designs.studio.2024.

  • Switch to a Professional / Business account

Unlocks insights, link in bio + multi-link, scheduled posts. Worth it on day one.

  • Bio formula: WHO + WHAT + PROOF + CTA

5 lines, one emoji max. "Studio of one ★ Brand identity + AI builds ★ Featured in WIRED ★ Book → link." Mid-sentence line breaks are paid for in scarcity.

  • Profile photo: brand mark, not founder face

A face changes mood. A mark stays the brand.

  • Pin three Highlights covers on launch day

Work · Process · Reviews. Each Highlight cover should match the brand palette exactly.

Content

What actually works.

  • The grid is a portfolio, not a feed

Plan it as a 9-grid. Every column should be a coherent design move. Use Planoly or Later or paper.

  • Reels are the discovery engine

A Reel reaches 10-30x the audience of a Post in 2026. Lean into them as the top-of-funnel.

  • Carousels still win for educational content

Highest save rate of any format. 7-10 slides, hook on slide 1, payoff on slide 7.

  • Stories are the daily presence

Behind-the-scenes, polls, sneak peeks. Disappears in 24h so the bar is low.

  • Caption length: 50 words OR 250 words

Either a one-liner or a mini-essay. The middle is dead.

Growth

Tactics that move metrics.

  • Reply to DMs faster than the algorithm thinks possible

Sub-1-hour DM responses move accounts into priority distribution.

  • Repost user content in Stories

Builds the social proof loop. People share more when reposted.

  • Use Collab posts with peers

Both feeds publish the post — instant 2x reach.

  • Skip the hashtag stuffing

2026 algorithm reads content semantically. 3-5 specific hashtags > 30 generic ones.

Channel · X (Twitter)

X (Twitter). real-time signal.

Best place to find your professional tribe in 2026. Less about reach, more about the right 1,000 people seeing your work. The bar to a meaningful follower is low — show up consistently, contribute to a niche, write declarative sentences.

Setup

Day-one checklist.

  • Handle should match your other platforms

Cross-platform handle consistency is a brand signal. Same @ everywhere.

  • Bio: WHO + WHAT + RECEIPT

A receipt is a specific accomplishment: "Built X · Sold Y · Working on Z." Beats vague descriptors.

  • Header image: 1500 × 500, generous safe-zone

Crops to a wide letterbox on the profile page. Anything important goes in the central horizontal band.

  • Pin a thread that explains who you are

New followers read your pinned post. Use it to convert curiosity into the right type of follow.

  • Consider Premium for verification + algo lift

In 2026 it is table-stakes for serious accounts. $84/year. Pays for itself in reach.

Content

What actually works.

  • Tweets > Threads > Replies

In that order for distribution. Singleton tweets travel farthest. Threads convert deepest. Replies build community.

  • Voice consistency over polish

A consistent voice over 6 months beats one viral banger. The voice is the product.

  • Post 1-3 times per day, not 15

X rewards quality over volume now. 15 posts a day looks like noise.

  • Reply > Quote tweet > Original

    For relationship-building. For distribution, invert.

  • Photo + 1 sentence outperforms 4-paragraph text

X is a visual platform now. Even a photo of a notebook page hits.

Growth

Tactics that move metrics.

  • Build in public

Share work-in-progress, ugly drafts, what you learned. Audiences follow journeys, not destinations.

  • Reply to 5 bigger accounts a day with genuine value

Visible in their replies = exposed to their audience. Genuine being the operative word.

  • Spaces for niche topics

    A 50-person Space converts better than a 5,000-impression tweet.

  • Long-form posts (Premium) for essays

X is becoming a publishing platform. Long-form posts get pinned in feeds — use them.

Channel · Facebook

Facebook. underestimated reach.

Still the largest social platform by user count. In 2026 the demographic skews 35+, B2B works particularly well, and Groups are the most underrated growth lever in social media. Skip the noise about "Facebook is dead" — it is not.

Setup

Day-one checklist.

  • Create a Page, not a Profile

Pages have analytics + advertising + multi-admin. Profiles are for humans.

  • Profile + cover photo: 170 × 170 + 1640 × 624

Cover photo gets cropped differently on mobile vs desktop. Test both.

  • Page username is your URL — pick carefully

facebook.com/vibedesigns. Cannot be easily changed once chosen.

  • About section reads like a one-pager

Mission, services, location, hours, contact, founding story. Facebook page about pages get indexed by Google.

  • Switch on Messenger automated replies

Even a "We will get back within 24h" beats no reply. Conversion-killer to leave it off.

Content

What actually works.

  • Native video beats YouTube links 5x

Facebook penalises off-platform links. Upload videos directly.

  • Live video gets 6x the engagement

Even an unscripted 10-minute live beats a polished pre-recorded post.

  • Groups > Pages for community

A 500-person engaged Group beats a 50,000-fan Page for actual business.

  • Avoid clickbait — the algorithm penalises it

"You won't believe..." kills your distribution. Direct, declarative copy wins.

  • Photo carousels (3-5 images) for product brands

Highest save + share rate of any organic format.

Growth

Tactics that move metrics.

  • Run a 5-person discussion in a Group

Algorithmic gold. Active Groups get promoted to non-members for free.

  • Boost the top-performing post, not the latest

Spend £50 on the one that already proved it. Do not spread it thin.

  • Cross-post to Instagram via Meta Business Suite

Free distribution lift. Same asset, twice the reach.

  • Reply to every comment in the first 6 hours

Same as YouTube — the early-comment window is weighted heavily by the algorithm.

Channel · TikTok

TikTok. pure discovery.

The platform with the strongest content discovery in 2026. Anyone can hit 100K views on video 1 if the hook is right. Unlike Instagram, follower count means very little — the For You page is the only thing that matters. Built for new entrants.

Setup

Day-one checklist.

  • Pick a username that reads in 1.5 seconds

Profile names display tiny on TikTok. Short, no special characters.

  • Profile photo: face or mark, not abstract

TikTok is intimate — viewers want to know who is on the other side.

  • Bio: 80 characters of voice + a CTA

No room for receipts. Just "what I do · where I am · how to reach me."

  • Add a link in bio (need 1K followers)

Until 1K, route to "DM me." After 1K, route to one specific page — not your home page.

  • Switch to a Pro account

Unlocks analytics + the Creator Marketplace. Free.

Content

What actually works.

  • First 3 seconds is the entire game

TikTok's "completion rate" is the dominant signal. Hook hard, deliver early, end with a loop hook.

  • Vertical, 9:16, sound on

Sound is required — silent videos get punished. Even ambient sound counts.

  • Captions on screen for accessibility

TikTok auto-captions, but custom captions outperform auto for retention.

  • Use trending sounds, not just trending dances

A trending sound on a brand-coherent video beats a forced trend cameo.

  • 60 - 90 second videos are the sweet spot

15s gets discovered but does not retain. 3-minute videos lose people. 60-90s converts.

Growth

Tactics that move metrics.

  • Post 1 - 2 times daily for 6 weeks straight

TikTok learns who your audience is during the first 50 posts. Frontload effort.

  • Reply to comments with video replies

Video replies appear on the For You page of the original commenter's followers — free distribution.

  • Use the Stitch and Duet features

Inserting your reaction or take into a viral video puts you in front of its audience.

  • Cross-post to Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts

Same vertical asset, three platforms. Use a watermark-removal tool first or TikTok's versions will tank elsewhere.

Or skip the setup

Hand it over, have it back in two weeks.

Setting up five platforms from scratch is 24 – 80 hours of work depending on how much identity + template support you need. The studio can have all of it live, branded, and posting on a schedule by the end of week two.
